This short film out of Grease Productions is a horrific metaphor that shows a man suffocating, a plastic bag wrapped around his head.

In a single, one-minute take that shows bared teeth and a struggling body, directors Hugo & Dean showcase visceral, vicarious trauma. It’s a film that shows a man literally being suffocated in a chair, and there’s no fancy shots, cuts, or CGI, and the result is blistering. Plastic is a Killer is hard to watch, and it’s meant to be that way, echoing the suffering of the greater world.

Because of the intensity of the scene, Dean Woodhouse decided to go in front of the camera to do it himself, emphasizing the reality and immediacy of the problem.
