We've all had crushes on TV characters in the past, but it seems as though the relationship in this sweet film from Circus Grey for Peruvian television network América Television is a little more two-way than most.
Telling the tale of Beto - the main character of De Vuelta al Barrio (Peruvian TV's most popular show) - and Elena, a fan of the series, the spot sees the characters notice each other 'through' the screen and embark on a relentless love affair.
Whilst the concept of a character from a show actually seeing you watching them may seem a little unsettling (especially if you normally watch sprawled on the couch in your underwear), the endearingly earnest nature of the commercial, alongside the skill and craft presented by Rebeca director Manuel Oxenford and cheesetastic 80s music hit called Fantasy that accompanies it, marks it out as a slice of masterful media-based melodrama.
