A new campaign from Cox Communications, the US's largest private telecom company, comprises two films as part of its Connections Project.

The campaign, created by 180 Los Angeles and directed by Josh Nussbaum through m ss ng p eces, highlights two outreach programs created by the company; One Call a Day and Virtual Senior Centers, both of which are aimed at helping older adults connect during the coronavirus pandemic.

For One Call a Day [above], an employee volunteer program that matches workers with a senior in need for a simple phone call, the simple but emotional three-minute film shares the story of isolated OAPs across the US who are struggling to stay connected in a socially distanced world. “This [initiative] just goes to show how powerful, even life-changing, a simple phone call can be," says Mike Bokman, Executive Creative Director at 180LA. "We hope this work inspires others to reach out to someone in their own lives. Especially now.”

The second initiative, Virtual Senior Centers [below] is a virtual experience created for senior centers whose patients are in complete isolation. It’s a story of resilience from active seniors at the Oasis Senior Center in San Diego who are reunited virtually with their communities and friends after senior centers across the country were forced to close their doors. The two-minute film captures their joy as they virtually connect for the first time to take group art, exercise, philosophy class and other activities.
