Häagen-Dazs release Love The Mix, directed by HOBBY’s Torben Kjestrup, to promote their ‘Duo’ range of dual-flavour ice cream.

Kjestrup is known for his visual trickery. Here, he uses a highly technical split screen approach to visualise the harmony of two contrasting but complementary flavours in each Duo tub. Two different worlds were crafted and tightly matched to form one poetic narrative.

Set to a rendition of The Chemical Brothers’ Galvanise by Swedish band Niki and the Dove the film is really all about playfulness and whimsy.

Kjestrup comments: "I love ice cream, Chemical Brothers and particularly visual challenges, so this felt like the perfect suit from day one. It was certainly a lot harder to pull off in reality than what it looked on paper, but thanks to a bunch of tests, prep and a super collaborative team of genuinely amazing people from both the agency, production company and client, we somehow made it happen."

HOBBY producerPhie Hansen adds: “Torben is so meticulous in the way he prepares. He has a really good eye for creating worlds that flirt with reality but also have a bit of  latent humour laced into everything.”

Previously Kjestrup has brought police work to life with kids at the creative helm for Lego, created transformational worlds for Mercedes and coordinated a victory dance for Samsung.

Love The Mix was shot over three days in Cape Town. The agency behind the campaign is Forsman and Bodenfors out of Sweden.

Kjestrup is represented by HOBBY in the Nordics and Benelux.
