Today is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, and among the plethora of tributes to the out-of-this-world feat is JFK Moonshot, an immersive augmented reality experience which celebrates the vision of then-president John F. Kennedy.

Released by The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, the AR documentary app aims to spotlight JFK’s pivotal role in getting the lunar exploration program off the ground.

Created by Digitas Boston and UNIT9, the app is being promoted by a 40-second spot, Full Circle, directed by UNIT9’s Jonathan Pearson, which features excerpts from Kennedy’s 1962 speech about how the US would build the technology to get to the moon within the decade.
