As F1 racing season starts up again, it seems like every driver, mechanic, commentator, and fan has been revving the engine, waiting for the green light.
We see Max Verstappen as he waits and prepares for the season, staying fit, going through races in his head, watching old tapes. In between moments, there’s shockwaves of the sport, moments of success and failure, his beating heart rendered in 3-D. It’s exciting and non-stop, and Max’s momentum carries us through the ad with energy and excitement.
Directed by Jan Wentz from Bonkers United, the spot’s production is sharp and fast-paced. It hugs the turns. The ad was developed by DDB Unlimited, going back and forth in Max’s life, utilizing footage of him racing as a child, giving the ad an endearing earnestness.
