What the most creative advertising idea youve seen recently?

I liked this idea I saw in a script – for an insurance company – about one poor worker in Wuhans lab who accidentally drops a flacon…

I cant reveal that because its too embarrassing.

 

Whats the most recent piece of tech that youve bought?

Laser spirit level. I was moving into a new house and I have a lot of paintings to hang.

What product could you not live without?

Hope: A product of idealism.

 

Whats the best film youve seen over the last year?

Lawrence of Arabia. It's still unbeatable.

 

What film do you think everyone should have seen?

Whats your preferred social media platform?

Facebook, because Im old-school and it keeps me in touch with my old school friends.

 

Whats your favourite TV show?

The Kingdom by Lars von Trier, because its really good and it was in before the hype of all the TV shows arrived.

Whats your favourite podcast?

My Mums calls.

 

What show/exhibition has most inspired you recently?

Walking through a completely deserted Lisbon during full lock down; no tourists, just the sounds of birds and music from TVs inside the houses.

 

Whats the most significant change youve witnessed in the industry since you started working in it?

The disappearance of bravery and courage on the clients side, which is causing fear and resignation on the agency side.

 

If there was one thing you could change about the advertising industry, what would it be?

Bring back the 90s and early 2000s method [Dunlop Unexpected, directed by Tony Kaye below]. I know only from stories about clever people being hired by brave clients to come up with unusual and creative approaches, which are original and entertaining.
