Directed by Christopher Riggert, It Starts With Yes is a charming and lighthearted ad about lockdown that isn’t concerned with lockdown.

The kids of a multi-level apartment building come together during socially distant isolation to build a course full of inventive tricks, stunts, and jumps for a pair of toy cars. The course winds around a man in a jacket and shirt but no pants, a curious cat, a woman giving a quarantine haircut, and a mom doing yoga. The sound effects and music track from Rumble Studios are reminiscent of the 90s spy films, full of low bass and zooming engines.

Fun, cheerful, and beautifully shot and edited, Finch’s production quality belies the fact that it was shot in separate apartments under lockdown restrictions. The sheer amount of effort to build all those courses fills you with nostalgia, sending you right back to orange-neon colored 90s.
