A Day In The Life Of Dino Burbidge
WCRS' director of technology keeps his cool whether he's wiring the agency toilets or speaking at Adweek.
Nothing proves too impossible for WCRS' director of technology & innovation, Dino Burbidge. Early morning creative brainstorms, a spot of DIY at the agency and being a panellist at Adweek Europe - it's all in a days work. Luckily, being observant rewards him with daily doses of inspiration.
06.50: Early start. Matlock needs feeding but part of his gundog training requires this awkward standoff.
08.25: Had a surprise Amazon delivery. Always worrying. Luckily turned out to be an awesome book from my mate Jop.
09.30: Into work. Straight into a session to make the awesome happen. My notes are crystal clear, right.
11.30: My backburner WCRS project. Trying to wire up the toilets to make them more efficient. I stare at these a lot.
13.20: Sprint down to the AdWeek Europe conference. On a panel in 30 mins. The VIP green room is red.
15.20: That moment when you dis a project and you’re sitting next to the lady that made it. Just about rescued it.
15.30: The view from the scary seats. Luckily something exciting was happening to my left.
16.10: Picked up a great life mantra. “The stubborn apple that falls nowhere near the tree. Or the f**king forest.” Tick. Note high tech sharing technique.
17.20: Collected a new best friend. The very impressive Nicole Yershon from Ogilvy. There will be coffee…
17.30: Dived into a pub to write these captions. I can only assume these guys are too.
