Goodby Unveils Drink Driving Pledge For Super Bowl
Don’t drink & drive after the Big Game. Goodby Silverstein & Partners releases in-built breathalyser with Tostitos.
One of the biggest advertising nights of the year is just around the corner and while the Super Bowl is all about being with the family and scoffing Buffalo wings, it’s also a time to get a little boozy. Resulting in many viewers not realising how drunk they are and driving home…
But this Big Game, help is at hand thanks to Goodby Silverstein & Partners who have devised Party Safe bags for tortilla chips brand, Tostitos.
Rather than take the risk, director John X. Carey combines various people’s stories who have lost loved ones after the Super Bowl, including pro-football player Delanie Walker who lost his aunt and uncle to a drunk driver.
“When we looked at the statistics, we were shocked. The Party Safe bag is a great messenger, but we wanted to show it in action, and at the same time tell deep, real stories,” says the agency’s creative director Sam Luchini.
Masterminded together with non-profit organisation MADD – which aims to reduce drink-driving accidents and remove 25,000 cars on the road during this Big Game – you can now conduct a small breathalyser test on yourself to find out whether it is safe for you to drive home.
If the bag glows green, it’s ok to make the journey. But if it glows red, the bag will display an Uber discount code and help you to call a ride using NFC technology.
Take the pledge and vow to stay safe this Sunday evening; it’s better to be safe than sorry.
