S&S Encourage BME Voting with 'Blacks Don't Vote'
Saatchi & Saatchi team with Operation Black Vote to change fact that 28% of BME people are not registered to vote.
That is a stark statistic, which Saatchi & Saatchi London have complemented with a stark set of images - a black on white website with information on issues relating to BME communities and a link to register to vote, and two videos featuring Riz Ahmed and Jamal Edwards talking about those issues.
Operation Black Vote's director Simon Woolley details the importance of this ad for the community it is confronting; “too many Black and Asian people are not voting but if we did, we would massively influence this election. The facts don't lie: 31 of the 50 most marginal seats in the country has BME electoral that dwarfs the existing majority. If we register to vote, and vote, we have the power to unlock talent and build a society in which we can all truly belong. It literally takes 3 minutes to register to vote.”
This message is seconded in accompanying films directed by Max Clark of Inside Job, featuring SBTV founder Jamal Edwards and actor Riz Ahmed which you can see above and below.
