Nissan bring the UEFA Champions League trophy to the stadium after a driving mishap in this stunt ad from Konrad Begg for agency Nissan United (TBWAG1, DanParis, TBWAElse) and production company Annex Films.

In the ad, filmed to look live and authentic, but actually shot two weeks prior to the final, a fan was selected to drive the trophy in a Nissan X-Trail to the match's location at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. However, he was 'too excited to' focus on the route and ended up at the wrong stadium. Luckily, Nissan were on hand for a mad dash across the city, involving a Nissan G-TR, some driving through building sites, and an airlift courtesy of a helicopter.

This route was captured using in-car cameras and people filming from cameras on motorcycles and on the helicopter, with the footage broadcast as live on Facebook. The coverage was united by the hashtag #TOOEXCITEDTO, reflecting the driver's given excuse for why he had gone to the wrong stadium.

Director Konrad Begg said of the ad, "this was a fun shoot, but it was also a very challenging one. Not because we flew a Huey helicopter with a Nissan X-Trail underslung over the city of Cardiff two weeks before the Champions League final. I have done this sort of thing before. No, the most difficult aspect for me was the overall approach that the idea demanded. It was almost the opposite approach to nearly every other project I have done. This had to feel real, live, and authentic. This meant that the camera techniques and the equipment required a radically different approach from other car shoots I had done."
