A Day in the Life of Antoine Choque
BETC's creative director takes us behind the scenes & on set to reveal the mysteriously atmospheric Lacoste ad.
08.14: For the latest Timeless Lacoste commercial, we got to shoot in a railway museum in Budapest (Hungary). We were surrounded by genuine equipment and real steam locomotives.
08.32: That’s the interior of the train where we will be shooting the dining scene.
08.47: We had a football field size of costumes. We had more than 500 costumes for the minute-long film. The fitting was done in this room and the team finished the final adjustments right before the shoot.
09.21: For this film, we collaborated with Madeleine Fontaine. She is an Academy Award-nominated costume designer that worked on the Jackie movie.
10.03: Behind the camera for this film were, once again, Seb Edwards, the director, and his DOP, Hoyte Van Hoytema, who worked on great movies, such as Interstellar, Her and Spectre. At the foreground, you can see Felipe Oliveira Baptista, the art director of the brand.
11.39: The production team found many ways to get incredible angles and powerful shots. For the scene on the train platform, they used a camera placed on a bicycle to get a close-to-the-ground effect and give the impression that we were moving along with the train.
15.01: I love this picture of the extras on the train platform with steam surrounding them. You feel transported back into the thirties when looking at it. It’s a beautiful shot.
17.08: Here is the train interior after our set designer turned it into an authentic restaurant car.
18.06: The team from the agency that came on the set: Fanny, account director, Aurelie, art director, Olivier, copywriter and Fabrice, TV producer.
20.59: After shooting the scenes on location, we moved to a studio to shoot the stunts. Damien Chapelle, the actor, who was wired, had to give the impression that he was running on the roof of the train and jumping from cars to cars.
