A Day in the Life of Kate Oppenheim
Brightly-coloured macaroons, fierce females at lunch & the ethereal power of Solange; m ss ng p eces' MD at Cannes.
"
08.30: We stay right above the amazing patisserie Le Nôtre, where I had my #1 favorite Cannes treat, a chaussons aux pommes. I look forward to it all year, and it takes the edge off being at a 9:00 am meeting after a late night!
11.00: Walking down the Croissette we saw a portrait of one of our newest creative technologists, Ashley Bachus-Clark from the collective Hyphen-Lab, featured as part of Adobe's creators series! Ashley and her partners Carmen and Ece are absolutely incredible. We were super proud to see her being recognized.
12:00: I was lucky enough to be invited to a special Mad Women lunch at Hotel du Cap with so many other amazing creative and production ladies, including [shots deputy editor] Selena! Diversity has been such an essential (and frankly depressing) topic in our industry - it's great to see so many fierce women together in one place. We took a group photo and instead of 'cheese!' we smiled, 'dismantle the patriarchy!’
17.00: I stopped before dinner to grab treats to bring back home to my patient husband!
18.30: Our dinner tonight was co-hosted with Huge and was a super interesting mix of digital people from the agency, brand, creative, media and start up worlds. Jason Musante, an ECD there, has been a collaborator of ours for years now, and we've always been pushing the boundaries together - from Google Glass to the first cinematic VR experience for a brand when Jason was at Havas on Dos Equis.
23.00: Solange at Spotify!!!!! Not pictured: me, in tears. Solange is a goddess who we do not deserve.
