'Every Pin Tells a Tale' for Royal British Legion

60,083 British soldiers fell at Passchendaele, the notoriously bloody battle whose 100th anniversary is being commemorated in 2017.

One of a number of commemorative campaigns is Every Pin Tells a Tale, Geometry's new work for the Royal British Legion. For this, the Royal British Legion have created a limited run of brass poppy pins, all of which have been created from British artillery shell fuses found on the battlefield site, and contain earth from Flanders Fields, where the battle raged in 1917.

To advertise this, Geometry have created a series of content. This includes print work [top of article] in which a soldier is seen reflected in the brass poppy. That soldier is John Sutherland, one of 60,000 Brits to perish during the battle that are commemorated by these pins.

Alongside this are print, digital and social elements such as the above branded content film that sees historian Dan Snow detail the events of Passchendaele.
