Grey Unveils New Shorts In Human Made Campaign
The two shorts reveal exceptional people with exceptionable (& unbelievable) projects in Volvo's continued series.
Volvo has rolled out yet another two shorts in its Human Made series – which launched on Sky Atlantic last year.
The latest iteration also created by Grey London – who are currently known as Valenstein & Fatt in honour of their 100th anniversary – features stories about drivers who reflect the brand's ethos of living exceptionally and doing exceptional things... in between sly shots of Volvo's cars driving along in slow-mo.
Human Made humanises Volvo’s customers and instead focusses on their lives, their passions and the way in which they’re changing the world with their innovative projects.
Nemo’s Garden (below) tells the tale of an Italian father and son who successfully learn to grow basil in the sea – as a way of combatting problems with agriculture caused by climate change.
Nemo's refusal to give up on this project until he found a solution is utterly mesmerising, something that is captured beautifully through D.A.R.Y.L’s direction.
Music of the Mind; the second short of the series; follows suit and tells an equally powerful story, although one that is firmly rooted on land. In it, D.A.R.Y.L documents the journey of violinist Rosie, who was left paralysed with severe brain damage after an accident.
The emotional six-minute-spot - which will break on TV next Tuesday (29th August) - focusses on Rosie re-joining her orchestra to work on compositions thanks to various technological aids, proving her commitment to work in music despite her condition.
“These remarkable stories depict people who are doing amazing things in the space of human-centric innovation, in turn they share the same values of the Volvo brand and the way in which they design their cars,” says Valenstein & Fatt creative director Andy Lockley. “It’s been a true honour to be part of the journeys of these unique individuals.”
