Nespresso Talents 2018 Launches with Female-Empowering Theme
If you're an emerging filmmaker with a passion for meaningful stories and mobile-friendly shorts, then get your work in to Nespresso's annual contest for your chance to make it to the French Riviera.
Coffee might wake the world up, but Nespresso is determined to make the world sit up with the third iteration of its filmmaking competition, Nespresso Talents 2018.
This year's contest focuses on empowering women, with the theme 'The Difference She Makes.'
Entrants are encouraged to document and be inspired by the stories of women who strive to make the world a better place through advocating change and highlighting their accomplishments.
“We have a long-standing commitment to supporting cinematography and Nespresso Talents has become an amazing means to celebrate and empower filmmakers around the globe," says Nespresso's CMO Alfonso Gonzalez. "This year we are inviting video makers to be bold and unleash their creativity to help us create a rallying cry for a brighter tomorrow.”
Crowdsourcing video platform Userfarm is challenging its 120,000-strong filmmaking connections to enter the competition - which opens for entries today.
All entries must be short vertical films (9:16) so that they are suitable to watch on a mobile, a criteria set in response to the growing medium in the last few years.
The three winning films will be announced at this year's Cannes Film Festival, where the winners will be flown out to to receive their monetary reward and mentoring sessions with Semaine de la Critique and Berlinale Talents representatives.
The deadline for submissions closes on March 25th, so get your entries in quick for your chance to make it to the French Riveria.
