Sales and reductions are pasted over archival animal footage in this provocative film about the decline of the beloved favorites of the animal kingdom.
English actor Harry Peacock plays the depraved death dealer who reminds everyone watching that once these animals are gone, they’re gone for good! The ad apes cheesy and low-budget local marketing ads to show off the last of the endangered species across Africa, Asia, and South America, continents where poachers are well known to frequent.
Effective and more than slightly disturbing, Nature’s Closing Down Sale is an admonition about animal welfare. The world as we know it is losing its biodiversity at an alarming rate, and while reductions are happening now, there’s also something we can do to help stop it. The ad for the Born Free Foundation was developed by ENGINE, and directed by Chris Boyle at Private Island.
