Agency Isla and PepsiCo present Poker Face, the first international competition that awards the pro poker player who can keep a poker face for longer, after trying Flamin’ Hot’s extra spicy snacks.

The event, held in Mexico City, had Sergio “Kun” Agüero, Argentine soccer legend and professional poker player as a special guest, together with three other top international poker players: Aaron Been from Nashville, USA, and Mexicans Luisa Morfin, and Santiago Nadal.

In a category in which every snack brand claims to be the spiciest, specially in Mexico, Isla and Flamin’ Hot took the competition to the next level.

Four world-renowned professional poker players: Aaron Been from Nashville, Luisa Morfin and Santiago Nadal, both from Mexico, and Sergio “Kun” Agüero from Argentina, were challenged to keep a poker face while tasting Flamin’ Hot snacks, known for their high level of spiciness.  A grimace, a flinch or any sign of burn, would be enough to disqualify these masters of disguise.

The event had a live audience and was streamed live on Kun Agüero’s Twitch account, to over 4.8M followers from around the world. The almost two-hours live-stream was also replicated by hundreds of influencers, who reacted, commented and invited people to play at home using the hashtag #PokerFaceFh.

“We believe in developing this kind of unexpected ideas for Flamin’ Hot, “hybrid” ideas as we like to call them, which blur the lines between advertising and entertainment, and invite people to watch content they are actually interested in, rather than feeling invaded by paid announcements” said Ariel Serkin, Rodrigo Grau and Mariano Serkin from Isla agency.
