CMN PPL FLMS have recently signed Icelandic director Alfheidour Marta for commercial and music video representation.

Marta first worked her way up as a producer at Sagafilm, an Icelandic production company and then signed with Nordur in Reykjavik to Direct where she worked and co-directed with Icelandic Director Runar Ingi. Branching out on her own with her 1st Ad experience from big movie and drama shoots, she’s in total command on set and is thriving on growing her career. Marta was brought to the attention of Co-Founder Tony Roberts’s attention via Sagafilm and after chatting, him along with EP Emily Crofton-Atkins both knew they had to sign her before she was snatched up.

Emily Crofton-Atkins says: “Marta has a subtlety to her work that makes it very engaging to watch. She comprises stylistic, longer length shots which gives weight to the performances and therefore draws you in emotionally. It’s this connection that is really important in any film experience in my opinion. We’re really excited to be working with Marta and watching her career go from strength to strength.”

Marta adds: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining Common People and excited to work in the UK market. Working abroad and in a new environment will be refreshing and insightful, especially after a year of semi lockdown and all Icelandic productions. The people at Common People have been a delight to collaborate with so far, and I can’t wait to go on set with them in real life. I feel this is the perfect next step for me as a director and joining the UK film industry is a dream come true.”
