Rapper Hanumankind has once again tapped the directing expertise of Bijoy Shetty – the pair having previously teamed up on his breakout video Big Dawgs – to craft this thrilling, action-packed promo Run it Up, produced by Brown Crew Productions.
Wanting to stand out from other Indian rap promos, which rely heavily on Western music video motifs (you know - cars, cash, the odd gestures rappers do with their hands), the artist delved into the rich visual culture and traditions of Kerala, a Southern state on the Malabar Coast of India where he was born.
Captivating, high-energy scenes of ritual dances, roaring fires, martial arts and bewitching costumes come alive to the sound of the rapper’s intense lyrics layered over traditional drumming.
