As the NBA season moves into the pressure-packed playoffs, ESPN is releasing a fourth spot for the NBA on ESPN this season.

ESPN worked with agency Arts & Letters on the creative. At the start of the 2020-21 NBA season, their partnership grew from working on the NFL on ESPN and the brand’s There’s No Place Like Sports campaign, to include the NBA on ESPN.

“We wanted to show the intense mental focus it takes to be a championship team in the NBA by creating a surreal void with VFX to isolate the players and get into their heads as the playoffs begin,” said Molly Jamison, creative director on the ESPN business at Arts & Letters Creative Co.

“When creating this fourth spot for the NBA on ESPN, we knew we wanted to capture the real life pressure the players experience by giving the viewer a glimpse into their minds - especially at a time as crucial as the playoffs,” said NJ Placentra, creative director on the ESPN business at Arts & Letters Creative Co.

ESPN worked with Arts & Letters on the creative for Time Will Tell, and the agency’s in-house production studio, XYZ.
