SourceEcreative Delves Into The Depths Of The Palais For Their Cannes Festival 2013 Installation
SourceEcreative, a division of DG's and the world's leading information resource for the latest breaking campaigns, TV commercials, virals, web videos, is proud to announce its 3D experiential event at this year's Cannes International Festival of Creativity.
Rather than throw an over-subscribed party or combat seasickness on a yacht, the team at SourceEcreative have instead hired renowned 3D street artist Manfred Stader to create an entertaining and interactive work on the Parvis area outside the Palais Du Festival. Using the festival's 60th anniversary and familiar feline mascot as a springboard, Manfred has created a death-defying look into the depths of the Croisette, catching a glance at the hallowed Lion statuette bestowed to festival winners as well as the prowling pride of guards – the Cannes lions themselves.
Manfred begins work on the installation on Sunday 16th June and will complete the project by Wednesday 19th, allowing delegates and Cannes visitors to interact and closer examine the 3D image – an oft referenced but rarely seen art form. SourceEcreative will also have a photographer on site to capture images of people placed on the painting, and are providing sophisticated photobooth-style software in order for people to share the pictures on email, Facebook and Twitter. The images will also be collated on a separate Facebook photo album – found on the SourceEcreative Facebook page – and the hashtag search functionality of Twitter and Facebook will be utilised to collect all tweets and updates to the project under the unique #SEC3D tag.
Pamela Maythenyi, Managing Director of SourceEcreative says, "This is a very unique, creative, experiential project, the likes of which have never been done at the Cannes Festival before. We are thrilled to have partnered with Manfred on this, his sidewalk 3D art is world renown."
SourceEcreative London MD James Straker adds, "We have been looking to do an active event at Cannes for a number of years, and, as we now have a greater international presence than ever, the 60th Festival seemed a perfect opportunity. Manfred's distinctive style and knowledge of 3D art, coupled with the technology available to share the fun images of people interacting, means that this installation project has the potential to brighten up delegates walk down the Croisette, as well as their social media feeds."
Manfred Stader began street painting, pavement art during his art studies at the famous Städel Artschool in Frankfurt at the beginning of the 1980s. In 1985 he was already one of the few master street painters - Master Madonnaro - a title which is awarded by the largest international street painting competition in Grazie di Curtatone in Italy. Through the study of anamorphosis, which has been used in the painting of the Renaissance and Baroque to produce more optical height and width, he developed a new form of street art, the 3d Street Painting, in order to produce three-dimensional images on a two-dimensional area.
The #SEC3D installation will be in place from Sunday 16th June to Friday 21st June 2013 in the Parvis area outside of the Palais Du Festival. Representatives from SourceEcreative will be on site throughout the project.
