Stitch Editing have promoted editor Max Windows to the role of Partner.

Windows has been with the company from the very beginning, starting as an assistant in the original Stitch line-up. Windows has since grown into a sought-after editor, regularly picking up awards for his commercial, short film and music video work. This rise to Partner shows Stitch’s mission of developing talent is still very much key to the future of the company.

Windows met Stitch partners Leo King, Tim Hardy and Angela Hart over 16 years ago, while working at another edit house. When the three left their roles to start their own company, Windows followed, becoming one of the original Stitch assistants. While the following years have been spent working up the ranks, Windows still collaborates with many of the people he worked alongside in those early years. This includes Director Nez Khammal who he ran with, Arts & Sciences EP James Bland who first met as an assistant, as well as Terry Hall and Noah Harris who he has worked with since his first year in editing.

Windows’ work has helped turn the company into the in-demand edit house it is today, picking up wins for Editing at the UKMVA’s in 2015, Clio’s in 2017 and D&AD’s in 2021. Windows’ short Film See It, Say It has also recently been confirmed to be having its International Premiere at the 2024 SXSW Festival, in the Narrative Shorts Competition.

He states: “The best part of working at Stitch is having the freedom to work on what we like; we are all encouraged to work on projects we are passionate about. Having the support is fantastic, whether it being from one of the other partners or all the other guys at Stitch, including producers’ assistants and runners. That support works the other way as well and I am always happy to help out with others.”

Tim Hardy, co-founder at Stitch Editing, comments: “Having Max join us as Partner is a proud moment for the entire Stitch team. I’ve worked with Max for many years, and it’s been great seeing him grow and develop into an amazing editor and human. At Stitch, we have always been proud of our ability to develop talent, and for Max to make the journey from Assistant to Partner is proof of that. We’re all super chuffed for him.”

Windows adds: “I have loved working at Stitch, and it is great to become a partner, I am very much looking forward to seeing how things develop from here and to see what projects are on the horizon.”
