straight 8 shootout premiered last week at FOCUS London and live online.

straight 8 shootout is a company-to-company showdown to produce the best 2.5 minute film on Super 8 without editing or post-production, seeing it for the first time at its premiere.

Prettybird, Progress Film Company, Spindle, Ana, Marshall Street Editors, The Network Productions, Groundglass and Adelphoi Music all took up the challenge and then voted in the cinema for their favourite films - without voting for their own.

The winners of straight 8 shootout online 2, at FOCUS London are:

GOLD: Spindle Films: spindle.co with For The Record. Donating their prize money to Little Lifts. 

SILVER: Marshall Street Editors: mse.tv with Good Grief. Donating their prize money to The Good Grief Trust. 

BRONZE: Adelphoi Music: adelphoimusic.com with Stair Squad. Donating their prize money to Shelter.

Shootout at Cannes 2020 is open now!

Immediately after the premiere, straight 8 announced their next shootout competition is open, for a premiere at Cannes in June 2020, is open. Limited shootout places are priced now at £495 GBP (normal price £750) which includes a contribution to the charity pot. Only the first 20 companies to buy entry will be in the Cannes Shootout line-up. The film delivery deadline is May 2020.
