The Sweetshop has restructured the management of its operations in New Zealand.

Fiona King, previously Managing Director of Sweetshop New Zealand, has been promoted to the role of Director of Productions for Sweetshop’s growing global brand initiatives and entertainment division.

The role is positioned to work alongside Chairman and Founding Partner Paul Prince and Global Executive Producer and Founding Partner Sharlene George. As Sweetshop strengthens its entertainment channels, the new division broaden’s platforms for its roster to express their creativity and craft.

Fiona said, “For Sweetshop’s roster of directors whose creative talents have many layers, developing our business into new areas gives us the pathway to develop brand stories that have many different forms.”

Meanwhile, Kate Roydhouse has been appointed to work alongside Ben Dailey as Co-Executive Producers leading Sweetshop New Zealand. 

Kate has shot all over the world, working on everything from lean documentaries to large-scale productions. Having spent four years in London leading WPP’s content marketing agency Colloquial from startup, Kate also worked on global brands at Crispin Porter + Bogusky.

Last year after returning to New Zealand, Kate showed her intentions as a leader in our Industry by speaking about unconscious gender bias at Spikes Asia.

Kate said, “Since coming back to New Zealand, I’ve had the opportunity to work with amazing people, on some great creative and I’m thrilled to progress this journey with Sweetshop. I have long admired them for their tenacious attitude, integrity for storytelling, high-level craft and love of the industry. I can't wait to get started.”

Ben Dailey said, “I am very much looking forward to Kate joining me. With her boundless energy and enthusiasm for both production and the creative process, we will continue to build on the success of Sweetshop New Zealand.”
