Italy’s premier music video awards, the Videoclip Italia Awards return with a major change: the event relocates to Milan, the heart of the country’s music and audiovisual production industry.

Submissions for the 4th edition of Videoclip Italia Awards are now open on FilmFreeway, with a deadline set for March 10, 2025. Open to music videos shot in 2024, the awards recognise outstanding work across 19 categories, including Best Low Budget Production and Extra Clip, dedicated to innovative music-related content such as short films, visual albums, and interactive works.

The Best International Music Video category is highly competitive, having previously honoured talents like The Blaze, Alex Gargot, Hernán Corera, and Juan Piczman, with past nominees including Floria Sigismondi, Aube Perrie, Pensacola, US, and Young Replicant.

The international category is judged by leading figures in Italian music video production, such as Matteo Stefani (EP at Borotalco), Martino Benvenuti (EP at Think Cattleya), and Andrea Folino (Director and founder of REEF Studios).

This year’s jury also welcomes Marta Bobic (Managing Director at CANADA), Laure Massé (Founder of Pelican Paris), and Phil Lee (Creative Director at Untold Studios), alongside directors Maki Gherzi and William Child, among others (see full list here)

Set to take place at BASE Milano, a cultural hub in the city’s Tortona district, the event will feature masterclasses, screenings, networking sessions, and industry talks. The winners’ ceremony and afterparty will cap off the program, reinforcing VIA’s role as a key platform for Italy’s music video scene.

"Since its launch in 2021, VIA has become a must-attend event for industry professionals while remaining open to all," say artistic directors Alessio Rosa and Nicola Marceddu. "Moving to Milan, a global centre for music, fashion, and advertising, allows us to strengthen its international presence and create new connections."

With a growing number of entries, previous editions saw around 250 submissions annually, the 2025 edition is set to be the biggest yet. The festival also maintains partnerships with Vevo, Kodak, and Panalight, and continues its collaboration with top Italian film schools.

Videoclip Italia Awards is organised by Videoclip Italia, a leading webmag dedicated to music video culture, with the support of FIMI, Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana.
