Missing People Charity Harnesses Power of Pokemon
BBH Barn has created a campaign which aims to use Pokemon Go players to help search for missing people.
Pokemon Go is a craze which has seemingly taken over the world, with legions of people searching high, low and anywhere in between for Ditto, Aerodactyl, Snorlax et al.
To harness this sea of search BBH Barn, the creative placement scheme run by BBH London, has created a campaign for Missing People, an independent charity which offers help when someone goes missing.
With huge groups of people (it's estimated over five million people in the UK play Pokemon Go) combing real-world locations for virtual characters, this new campaign urges people playing the game to look for real missing people while they're on the hunt for Pokemon.
Vinyl posters of missing people borrow the look and feel of Pokemon 'balls' to target gamers in the area the at-risk individual was last spotted, asking anyone with information to call the charity's free, 24/7 and confidential hotline or visit their website.
The posters were placed on the floor to be prominent to Pokemon gamers looking down at their phones, with media for the campaign donated by JCDecaux.
