Escape to la la lockdown land

While we all attempt to get our heads around the profoundly abnormal nature of the 'new normal', everything seems to look a bit post-Covid these days. 

This promo is no exception in its depiction of an eerily unpeopled megopolis inhabited by a few subdued individuals glued to flickering screens, some in masks.

So, although it references corona world, in fact the main inspiration for this technicolour walk on the wild side is the 1978 movie-musical, The Wiz, which also inspired EarthGang’s 2019 album Mirrorland. 

The first instalment in Strangeloop's new animated series for the band, this video sees the Atlanta rap duo, Olu and WowGr8, as adventurers travelling in a bonkers new world of spaceships, gyrating catfish, cyborgs, aliens and a whole lot of swirly colours. We can't wait to see where they're headed next.
