Metronomy's new promo, for their new track, With Balance, is an intriguing, understated but compelling piece of work that features a young woman on a swing who is staring directly into the camera.

Directed by Lucas Reis through Immigrant Studio, and co-funded by and co-created by Wieden+Kennedy London, at which Reis is a creative director, the four minute film sees the young woman take a seat on the swing after receiving a phone call. She proceeds to rock back and forth, the gentle music playing over her and the camera locked onto her face. All the while she is staring into the lens, her expressions slowly altering as the video plays.

The other element changing is the background to the shot. As she rises into the air, the environment alters from the block of flats she began in, to a shop, a train station, a class room and other locations, before we switch to guest artist, Joshua Idehen, who appears on the swing.

The altering backgrounds on the swing shots were created on a LED screen and either shot or generated, with practical light changes and props.
