Production company Park Pictures welcomes stylistic and cinematic director Roger Guàrdia to their growing London roster.

Roger Guàrdia creates hypnotically atmospheric worlds with a meticulous eye for detail, whether he’s eulogising Rosalía in an otherworldly shrine of candles or shooting an entire orchestral score in a swimming pool for Aphex Twin.

Born and raised in the suburbs of Barcelona, Guàrdia got into filmmaking in his youth, making music videos for the most exciting contemporary artists in the underground scenes he was a part of. Driven by instinct and intuition, Guàrdia finds new ways to surprise the viewer with poetic visuals and an ambitious technical craft as seen in spots like sci-fi youth story The Prologue (2021) for Hood by Air.

Guàrdia joins Park Pictures London after three successful years with Park Pictures in the US. He has collaborated with music labels Warp, Captured Tracks, and Sony Music, creating music videos for artists like Battles, Bad Gyal and Mourn, which have garnered him nominations for top awards including the UKMVAs. His commercial clients include the likes of Nike, UNICEF, Converse, Adidas and Stella McCartney.

His 2021 campaign for Zara Origins, a visual experience based on Aphex Twin’s Avril 14th, in which the masters of the classical perform an arrangement of the song in a swimming pool, alongside a diverse cast of models wearing the brand’s collection, was awarded and nominated at Ciclope, Webby Awards, Berlin Commercial Awards, BFF (Berlin Fashion Film festival), Ciclope, CANIFFF (Canadian International fashion film festival) , Buenos Aires MVF, VAEFF, LCI BCN fashion film festival, 1.4 Awards, Fashion Film Festival Milano, AFFF (Athens Fashion Film).

Guàrdia’s move to Park Pictures London signals an intention to focus on more European projects rooted in areas like fashion, music and culture, where Roger has established a solid presence and audience.

“Roger is a director unlike any other on the Park roster,” says Park London Managing Director Fran Thompson. “His unique perspective and style allows to engage on a whole new range of scripts and we’re excited to develop some agenda-setting projects with him and be part of his evolution as a director.”

“I'm happy to expand my relationship with Park Pictures and join them in London. I really like the team’s background, vision, and approach. I can't wait to collaborate and create good projects together,” says Guàrdia.
