After last week's conversation with Vincent Lambe, jury Chairman for the Young Director Award 2020, Karim Bartoletti, continues his series of YDA Chats as he talks to Paul Nevison.
Nevison was the Gold Screen winner of 2019's Changing the World Frame by Frame category with his brilliant film Volta [below]. Originally from New Zealand, he talks to Bartoletti from his base in Australia about directorial influences such as Errol Morris and Aoife McArdle, the magic of combining a beautiful story with beautiful images, the importance of intuition, life during lockdown, and how coming up through the world of documentaries has impacted on his work.
