Entries for the 13 different categories, plus the Producers Award, have been whittled down to the final selection in which features work from directors across the globe, including New Zealand, Mexico, Lebanon, South Africa, Japan, Lithuania, Brazil and many others.

The full shortlist for the 2019 YDA can be viewed here and congratulations to all those who have made it this far.

The winners will be announced this coming Thursday [June 20] at the JW Marriott hotel in Cannes. 

The ceremony will be preceded by a talk from renowned thought-leader, author, sustainability advocate and marketing guru, Thomas Kolster, who will be discussing how brands - and filmmakers - can make advertising better.

That will be followed by a panel talk entitled; Is advertising enough? Can the commercial filmmaking industry still compete effectively for the best new directorial talent?
