You know that thing your relatives do, when they mention somebody you don’t know, then proceed to spew random facts about them until you recall said obscure character?
That seemingly common experience provided the inspiration behind this clever and comedic short film, titled Dicky Peg Dave, directed by J Marlow through Outsider.
Set against the quintessentially British backdrop of Staines Old Market Square, the brilliantly simple sketch packs plenty of dry, punchy humour and the perfect cast to bring this playful observation to life.
"I’d been wanting to do a sketch for a while, something super simple, two people, dialogue lead, in one environment, something that was cheap to shoot and focused on a great cast, this ticked all the boxes," explained Marlow. "Outsider were awesome and got behind it straight away, after I finished the script, we shot two weeks later. The shoot, at Staines Old Market Square, was also one of those great laid- back shoots with an awesome crew of people who all kindly gave their time and expertise”
