Kibwe Tavares chats to the YDA

The 2020 YDA online event is happening later this month, which will see this year's winners announced and herald a series of 1-2-1 discussions with advertising, film and TV directors.

Ahead of that, though, the 2020 YDA Jury Chairman, Karim Bartoletti, continues his series of Chats, this time with Nexus director and 2014 winner Kibwe Tavares. 

Tavares won for his amazing short film, Jonah, and here speaks to Bartoletti about being encouraged to be creative from a young age, how animation is simply a tool to tell stories and how he has learned to work with writers. He also discusses his recent role as an executive producer on the BBC's Noughts + Crosses.
