With fun character design and a story reminiscent of media like Pacific Rim, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Voltron, Taco Bell assembles a savior team of pilots.

Sure, the motivation here is a little absurd (kaiju are attacking because they want nacho sauce...I mean, I’ve watched anime with more absurd premises before), but the animation is incredibly tight, the character designs are on point, and the overarching story about a struggle against overwhelming chaos is exactly what you want from an over-the-top anime. Overall, Fry Force takes a direct and stylistic approach to anime, creating something approachable and fun.

The 60-second spot was directed by Luca Vitale and Kylie Matulick and produced by Psyop. Paying homage to the Olympics (when the spot first aired) through setting and storytelling, the spot balances classic Japanese anime tropes and silliness. Duetsch LA worked on this piece as the agency lead.
