adidas Originals continues to celebrate the past by examining the present with another film created by Johannes Leonardo New York that pays homage to the communities that have worn the Gazelle, Samba and Handball Spezial, both yesterday and today.

Last year's films, from Justyna Obasi [Samba] and Daniel Wolfe [Superstar], both of which have been shortlisted at this year's shots Awards The Americas, are now followed by Vincent Haycock's spot [above], created through Somesuch.

The campaign, set to Primal Scream's Loaded, shines a light on three iconic silhouettes from football culture; the Gazelle, the Samba and the Handball Spezial. First designed for different sports, since their inception, each classic has continued to make an impact across places, cultures and movements, and this 30-second spot features a tableau of life seen through the story of a thousand adidas Originals, and features professional skateboarder Carlisle Aikens, a member of the adidas Skate Team.

A series of still images [below], also captured by Haycock, pay homage to the array of people and personalities that wear the shoes today – each styling them in a different way, writing new chapters for the timeless icons.
