Obasi is a filmmaker whose work is deeply rooted in instinct, intimacy, and authentic human stories. Renowned for her ability to capture people in their most complex, unguarded, and dynamic forms, she creates work that feels raw, immediate, and undeniably real. Her distinct visual language and narrative depth have positioned her as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary filmmaking.
Specialising in directing both actors and real people, Obasi captures subjects as they are complex, unguarded, and in motion. Her portfolio includes award-winning commercial work for global brands such as Meta and Adidas. Her co-directed film, Skate Nation Ghana, earned an Emmy nomination alongside multiple international accolades, including D&AD Pencils, a Silver Lion at Cannes, and inclusion in the Museum of Modern Art’s (MoMA) permanent collection.
Her arrival reinforces BIRTH’s commitment to championing bold, vision-driven talent within the French commercial and creative landscape.
