EightSix launch The Handmade Series
EightSix have made eight short films about one of advertising's most familiar rituals: trying to get a room full of people to agree on music.
EightSix have made eight short films about one of advertising's most familiar rituals: trying to get a room full of people to agree on music.
The campaign is called The Handmade Series, for EightSix Brand Studio. There are cardboard sets, rolling scenery, conflicting opinions and me trying to keep a straight face in the middle of it all. I conceived the series and, perhaps questionably, also ended up as the lead actor.
EightSix made it with Leuchtturm Film and Spirit.View. The sets were physically built by hand, with no AI-generated imagery in the films. Keeping the cardboard and the mechanics visible was part of the idea, with music and sound helping the humour land.
Brand Studio gives those music conversations a starting point: what the brand stands for, who it needs to reach and what the music needs to do. The films have a little fun with what happens when those questions get lost.
