Amsterdam-based production house Bonkers United has signed acclaimed filmmaker Emma Westenberg for Dutch and Belgian commercial representation.

A graduate of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Westenberg has developed a distinctive visual language that blends fashion, fine art and cinematic storytelling into work that is both emotionally resonant and visually arresting. Her portfolio spans campaigns and films for brands and publications including ASOS and Vogue, alongside music videos for artists such as Troye Sivan, Janelle Monáe and Anouk.

Westenberg’s celebrated video for Monáe’s Pynk became a global cultural touchstone, while her feature film debut Bleeding Love, starring Ewan McGregor and Clara McGregor, premiered at SXSW and received critical acclaim for its intimate exploration of family, connection and forgiveness.

“Emma is one of those rare directors whose work feels instantly recognisable without ever repeating itself,” says Saskia Kok, Partner and Executive Producer at Bonkers United. “Her strength lies in creating unique worlds and collaborating closely with the artists within them. Whether she’s working in music, fashion, commercials or long-form storytelling, there’s an unmistakable sense of authorship running through everything she creates. We were drawn to the same sense of curiosity, humour and humanity that runs through all of her work.”

When asked what attracted her to Bonkers United, the answer was simple. “The work, the people and the chemistry,” says Westenberg. “It just clicked.”

About her signature as a filmmaker, Westenberg points to a fascination with the beauty and strangeness of everyday life.
“I’m drawn to the wondrous weirdness of being alive,” she says. “That’s what I’m always trying to capture. Preferably with colour and humour, because there’s already enough sadness in the world.”

The signing further strengthens Bonkers United’s roster of internationally recognised talent, adding another distinctive voice whose work effortlessly bridges the worlds of music, fashion, advertising and cinema. Kok adds “We’re super psyched to be working with her, expecting colour, character and the occasional dance number; which we’d be more than happy to see last forever.”
