British fintech company SumUp has teamed up with director Ferina and Object & Animal to launch its Life's Better In Person campaign.

Built around SumUp's card and rewards offering, the film is a reminder that some of life's best moments happen face to face, in local cafés, shops and streets.

Moving through a series of everyday encounters, the film follows people meeting friends for coffee, stopping into independent businesses and paying with a tap of their card as they go. The camera stays close to these small interactions – conversations across café tables, baristas serving regulars and the familiar rhythm of spending time in the community rather than behind a screen.

Shot with a warm, easygoing feel, the campaign keeps its focus on real neighbourhood life. The places feel lived in, the people feel familiar, and the emphasis is on the connections that grow from supporting local businesses and spending time together offline.
