Greatergood signs Lachlan Dickie
The Australian director who joins for US representation, brings dry performance comedy, heightened worlds and meticulous visual craft to the company's roster.
Los Angeles-based production company Greatergood has signed Australian director Lachlan Dickie for commercial representation in the US.
Dickie is known for building heightened and sometimes impossible worlds that remain grounded through precise performances and a clear internal logic. his films combine dry humour, considered production design and visual effects that serve the idea rather than overpower it.
his commercial portfolio includes work for Google, Ford, Cadbury, Honda, Pepsi, Australia Post and Medexpress. films including Australian Pork's Por Qué?, Australia Post's Spread The Merry, Prospa's Convince and Berlei's Talking Bras demonstrate a range spanning character comedy, dialogue, visual transformation and cinematic world-building.
Dickie began directing music videos after art school, developing a hands-on understanding of writing, editing, production and visual effects that continues to inform his commercial work. his films have been recognised by the award awards, Adweek, Mumbrella and the Cannes Young Director Award.
"Lachlan makes strange ideas feel completely logical," said greatergood founder and executive producer Pedro Aragão de Oliveira. "his performances stay human, the worlds are beautifully controlled, and the comedy comes from people fully believing the situation rather than playing the joke. that combination gives the work scale without losing character."
“I have always been drawn to ideas that seem impossible but run on completely believable logic and performances,” said Dickie. “I try to make strange ideas feel like they’re really happening. Pedro immediately understood that part of the work, and how it could translate into the US market. I’m looking forward to what is possible in this next chapter with Greatergood.”
