Iris Luz joins Academy
Grammy nominated Luz joins the roster at an exciting moment in her career, with a growing body of work that continues to resonate across fashion, music and contemporary culture.
Academy welcome Iris Luz to the roster, a multi-disciplinary photographer and director whose image making is helping define a new era of music and fashion culture.
With a visual language that is instinctive, playful and unmistakably contemporary, Luz has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting creative voices of her generation. Vogue recently recognised her as “one of the girls re-energising British cool.”
Luz has been working with trailblazing artists like Nia Archives, Pink Pantheress and Oklou on their music videos and album artwork. Earlier this year, Iris received a Grammy nomination for her album artwork with cult band Wet Leg. Most recently, Luz shot a campaign for the fashion lead tech brand Nothing, starring the electrifying popstar Milli.
Luz is culturally entrenched and tuned to what’s next, with years of exploring and dissecting subcultures shaping her perspective, rooted in the subversive and always looking beyond the surface. Luz has spent creating her own photography projects and films, and her work talks directly to her generation with humour, joy, satire, with a dark, knowing edge.

“I’m so thrilled to bring my perspective to Academy and see how we can scale it into amazing bigger things. To be amongst iconic directors like Walter Stern, Jonathan Glazer and Ari Aster is a blessing. The team at Academy understand me intuitively in a way I deeply cherish.” said Luz.
"Fresh from her ICA panel alongside Jonathan Glazer, Adam Curtis and Walter Stern, Luz has spent the last few years carving out a genuinely singular voice across fashion and music. Her imagery is instantly recognisable, striking enough to stop art directors, musicians and fellow artists in their tracks, and it keeps shifting, keeps surprising. She doesn’t follow trends so much as quietly initiate them. Beyond all of that, she’s a warm, generous presence and an absolute joy to collaborate with. We can’t wait to see what comes next.” said Medb Riordan Co-Owner & Global Managing Director.
“We are delighted to welcome Iris Luz to Academy, she brings a fresh perspective, unique sense of style and deep understanding of internet pop culture. I can’t wait to see how Iris continues to evolve and create work that resonates with audiences.” adds Jennifer Byrne Head of Development.
“We are so thrilled to welcome Iris Luz to Academy. There’s a sharpness and unpredictability in her visual language that feels distinctive and of current. We are so excited to support her as her practice evolves across fashion, music and commercial.” added Charlotte Long Head of Photography.
