Award-winning voiceover artist Kelley Buttrick of KB Voiceovers mocks and crashes her way into 2025 with the launch of her comedic mockumentary series Human Species.

“I've voiced documentaries, branded documentaries, and series, but never one on a topic as close to my heart as nature,” shares Buttrick. “In my first interview when I launched my business in 2010, I told the local reporter my ultimate goal was to voice a Discovery Channel series. If I get the opportunity to voice a natural history documentary, I’ll have accomplished everything I set out to do in my career. Creating this mockumentary series is certainly a unique way of marketing my voiceover business, if not the first of its kind in the industry.”

Human Species mimics the style of a natural history documentary while humorously examining human behaviour. Each 60-second episode delivers a tongue-in-cheek narration, bringing a wildlife documentary voice-over to everyday actions. With three episodes completed and a fourth on the way, Buttrick is sharing the series across social media.

“I’m hoping viewers will share the Human Species Mockumentary Series with anyone they know in the documentary industry,“ Kelley says. “I got tired of waiting for a nature-focused documentary narrator audition to come in from my agents, so I decided to get my voice out there to create the opportunity on my own. I narrate each video in the series with a different documentary narration style.”

Additional recent voice-over projects from Kelley and KB Voiceovers include voicing for ESPN, Michelin, Chewy, Disney, NASA, and countless others. While she is represented by national talent agents, more than 90 percent of Buttrick's business is from repeat clients and referrals from those clients originally generated from her marketing efforts. Her clients consistently comment on her interest in their projects, her professionalism, and how much easier she makes their jobs.
