Morgan & Morgan, America’s largest injury law firm, has announced the release of True Trial Stories, a new long-form documentary series available on YouTube and launching nationally on TV.

Moving beyond the traditional true crime format, this series offers an unfiltered look at the civil justice system, following the real-life journeys of families who had to fight for dignity and compensation after devastating injuries.

Produced by Morgan & Morgan’s Brooklyn, NY-based in-house creative team, True Trial Stories aims to demystify the civil trial process. By showcasing real depositions, mediation struggles, and jury verdicts, ranging from $9.4 million to $37 million, the series demonstrates what is required to fight to hold powerful entities accountable. The series highlights the reality of litigation: it is not just about the car crash itself, but the gruelling battle that follows against insurance agencies and corporate defence teams.

"We see it every day: an insurance company tells a family their loved one’s life isn't worth a fair settlement," said John Morgan, founder of Morgan & Morgan. "When that happens, the only way forward is to be ready to go to trial if needed. It’s daunting and confusing for people who are already facing what is usually the toughest time in their lives. These documentaries aim to pull back the curtain on what the legal process is like and the years of work, the invasive defence tactics and the ultimate vindication of a jury verdict."

The debut release weaves together three narratives, each exposing a different facet of the legal system:

The fight for value: The family of Jina Lo, a young woman fatally rear-ended by a commercial driver, faces a defence team attempting to minimise the "value" of her life based on her income and education. The segment highlights the emotional toll of wrongful death suits where a human life is reduced to a calculator’s sum.

The fight against surveillance: Yvette Torres, a veteran struck by a 20,000-pound utility truck in Philadelphia, endures invasive surveillance by insurance investigators while recovering from spinal fusion surgery. Her story exposes the aggressive tactics that can be used to discredit victims.

The fight for the future: Juan Camilo, a father suffering permanent injuries after a T-bone collision, rejects a lowball policy-limit offer to take his case before a jury. His segment illustrates the risks of trial and the necessity of securing a verdict that covers a lifetime of medical needs.

“Each episode takes a deep dive into three cases, spotlighting the real people at the centre of them,” said Carlos Wigle, the CCO of Morgan & Morgan’s in-house agency and the director of True Trial Stories. “These are not just legal victories; they are human stories, told with the emotional weight and nuance they deserve. The result shows what it really means to fight for the people.”
