Straight 8, the analogue filmmaking showdown, showcased the latest of its Straight 8 Shootout films this week.

Competing in the Shootout, which is sponsored by shots, were companies including Droga5, Iris Worldwide, Squire Studio and Groundglass.

In common, they’d all taken the brazen step of attempting to make a short film of up to two-and-a-half minutes that was created entirely on one cartridge of Super 8, with no ability to edit, tweak or even see it ahead of its premiere on the big screen at the Focus Production Show in the Business Design Centre, Islington.

Only entered companies could vote, which they did at the end of the session and the winners were announced as;

GOLD: Iris Worldwide London for The Cost of Living

SILVER: Factory Studios/Siren for Recording

BRONZE: Droga5 for Dead Humour

You can view the winning and entered Shootout films here.

If you would like to take part in a future Straight 8, the competition has just opened the doors to its next Shootout, which will premiere on the morning of Friday 23rd June in Cannes (the morning after the shots Cannes Beach Party!)
