Growing up in North-West London, surrounded by a lively, mixed Irish and West Indian family, Watson developed his passion for storytelling from a young age. This translated into a love for literature, music, film, and art. Whilst studying English at Bristol University Watson discovered film editing, and after living in Vietnam, returned to London and joined Work as a runner in 2019. He quickly ascended to Assistant Film Editor and joined the New Wave roster after nurturing his own client relationships, editing projects for JW Anderson, Vogue, Google and many others.
He’s also worked on many high-profile campaigns such as Channel 4 Paralympics, John Lewis Christmas and Riyadh and is trusted by Directors and clients to look after their projects with both talent and detail.
Founding Partner Jane Dilworth said: "Miles now becoming an Editor is so great for us all. Watching him grow from a runner to a trusted editor on our main roster has been a highlight for us: he brings a fresh, calm energy to every room he’s in. He has a wonderful sensitivity and puts cuts together with skill."
As with all Work editors, Watson is drawn to the craft of editing, "From my time as a runner, assistant and now editor, I have constantly been challenged, motivated and inspired by everyone at Work. I've had the opportunity to learn my craft alongside some of the best editors in the business, working on some incredible jobs. Work is a family that I've learnt so much from and am so proud to be a part of. I can't wait for the future ahead."
Frankie Elster, Executive Producer adds: "Miles moving up within the company is so exciting. He has an incredible instinct for storytelling and a work ethic that is second to none. He’s also such a top guy, I’m really looking forward to him taking off!"
