As the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation draws to an end, environmental movement 1% For The Planet has launched this impactful campaign, directed by Mael Sevestre through Imagerie Films with the help of MNSTR, titled The Voice of the Glaciers.
At the centre of the campaign is breathtaking documentary-style film, which, through sublime shots of a slowly disappearing landscape, shows how composers Flavien Berger and Aurélien Buiron recorded the haunting sounds of a dying glacier and transformed it into a real vinyl record pressed in ice from the Mer de Glace.
On Monday morning (8th December) in Paris, this ice vinyl will be played and allowed to melt during a live artistic happening; a powerful display symbolising the urgency of glacial preservation.
