Park Village has signed British director Abel Rubinstein for representation, bringing his character-driven approach and commitment to authentic storytelling to the studio’s growing roster.
Known for work that explores gender, sexuality, love and friendship with warmth and realism, Rubinstein has built a distinctive voice across narrative film, commercials and music videos. His recent projects include Life In Love, an award-winning mini-series for ITV exploring modern relationships, and Mars, a BIFA-longlisted short starring Heartstopper’s Yasmin Finney.
Rubinstein’s films have screened at LFF, Tribeca, Tampere, Flare and more than 70 festivals internationally, with his work featured in Variety, Deadline and Evening Standard. His earlier films Dungarees, Fuck the Boxes and Wink explored identity and self-acceptance, receiving support from Creative England, BBC, ICA and Roundhouse.
Alongside narrative work, Rubinstein has directed commercials and music videos, including a video for Cat Burns and a Nike campaign comprising two 60-second documentaries celebrating the queer community in sport, which reached more than 11 million viewers.

The new partnership will see Park Village work closely with Rubinstein to develop his commercial and branded storytelling, while supporting the distinctive, character-led filmmaking that has become central to his work.
Rubinstein is currently developing his debut feature film, Gumballs, with the BFI, and was previously awarded development funding by BFI Young Audiences for an original queer TV series. Inspired by filmmakers including Sebastian Schipper and Lukas Moodysson, Rubinstein works closely with actors to create performances rooted in realism, bringing an intimate and distinctly British perspective to stories about contemporary relationships and identity.
