While blood attained on a player’s kit from an injury is considered a badge of honour, menstrual blood stains are still too often perceived as embarassing and taboo, with six out of ten girls fearing participating in sports whilst on their period.
Laundry brand Persil's Dirt Is Good movement has teamed up with British football club Arsenal to launch this thought-provoking new campaign, created by MullenLowe and directed by Jane Stockdale through You Are Here, to tackle the shame and double standards surrounding period stains in sports.
Featuring Arsenal stars including Beth Mead and Leah Williamson, the spot, titled Every Stain, blends live action, photo montages and impactful statistics to inspire and empower the next generation of players.
